I have not shared posts about my ramblings in a long time because I didn’t have much to ramble about, until today. Today I am sharing a recent bump in the road I encountered on my Instagram journey.
Just a couple of days after dishing out some golden nuggets of wisdom in my latest blog post about setting SMART goals for Instagram growth: “Crochet by Queen Gee is where I am shining the spotlight on my crochet creations, sharing valuable tips, showcasing talented fellow crocheters, and offering my services to support fellow crochet enthusiasts and entrepreneurs. It’s like my snug little crochet nook in the vast expanse of the internet”, I found myself facing some unexpected challenges on the platform.
My Ramblings:
Navigating the Instagram Minefield: Unexpected Challenges in Community Engagement
It all started with a couple of innocent comments I left on posts, showing some love and support to fellow creators in our vibrant crochet community. But then, out of nowhere, Instagram decided to rain on my parade not once, but twice, by flagging my comments as spam. Yep, you heard that right – my genuine, heartfelt comments got the boot.
Naturally, I was taken aback. I mean, I pride myself on being an upstanding member of the Instagram community, always playing by the rules and spreading positivity wherever I go. But here I was, feeling like I was walking on eggshells, unsure of whether my next comment would meet the same fate.
So, like any curious soul would, I turned to the vast expanse of the internet for answers. And lo and behold, I stumbled upon a slew of fellow Instagrammers sharing eerily similar tales of woe. It has been going on for years. It wasn’t just me – others were facing the same struggles, scratching their heads in confusion as their carefully crafted comments vanished into the abyss.
Now, call me crazy, but isn’t Instagram supposed to be a place where we can connect, share, and uplift each other? It’s disheartening to think that despite our best efforts to foster a supportive community, we’re still at the mercy of algorithms and mysterious spam filters.
And let’s not even get started on the looming threat of losing our accounts altogether. With each removed comment, it feels like I’m teetering on the edge of a cliff, unsure of whether one wrong move could send me stumbling into oblivion.
Navigating Obstacles in the Crochet and Instagram World
But here’s the kicker – I refuse to let these obstacles dim my passion for engagement and connection. Sure, Instagram might be throwing some curveballs my way, but I’m not about to throw in the towel just yet.
So, where do we go from here? Do we retreat into the shadows, abandoning our efforts to engage and uplift each other? Not a chance. Instead, let’s band together, share our experiences, and explore alternative avenues for connecting with our community.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about the platform – it’s about the people. And as long as we continue to support each other, whether it’s on Instagram, Quora, or beyond, we’ll weather these storms together.
Moving Forward Together: Embracing Resilience and Unity in Our Crochet Community
So here’s to resilience, camaraderie, and the unwavering spirit of the crochet community. We may face obstacles along the way, but with each challenge, we emerge stronger, more united, and more determined than ever to share our passion with the world.
And fear not, my dear readers, for this is not the end of our journey together. While I navigate the ever-changing landscape of social media, I will continue to share valuable content right here on my blog. Plus, I’m shifting my focus to continue building my email list, where I will feel more comfortable communicating and engaging with you directly.
So, if you haven’t already, be sure to sign up for my newsletter to stay in the loop and join me there. Together, we will craft a community that’s as resilient as it is vibrant, one stitch at a time.
Keep on crafting, keep on connecting, and keep on shining bright, my friends. Together, we’ve got this.
