Most of my wonderful relatives and friends have no idea that I have been struggling with losing weight since May of this year, not just because I want to maintain a gorgeous figure, but due to illness (not terminal thanks to the Most High.)
During a two year period leading up to May I gained over fifty pounds, due to bad eating habits and over working myself. Low and behold, I started having breathing issues…my back problems (slipped or herniated disk) worsened and I also started to experience fatigue.
In May, just couple days before my birthday which is the 16th, I was in a vehicle with windows up and air condition running, when I started to experience Hypo-ventilation. It was really difficult to breathe and so I was rushed to a doctor, who referred me to a hospital that deals with such situations…tests, tests and more tests were done. Long story short, among other procedures and medication, it was recommended that I MUST lose some of the weight I was packing. Now my friends, my experience was no joke, as such I knew I had to shed the pounds I gained plus more.
I started to research ways to lose it without causing further damages to my body and worst of all the problem is with my heart, so you know I have to trod lightly, with the help and recommendations of my doctor of course. I tried numerous methods, including change of diet and mild exercise, but nothing much was happening, until someone who is knowledgeable about fasting recommended that I try that method…who wants to go without food…smh. Not something I would normally rush to do, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
I researched that too and with the realization that it will work wonders I am now using the good ancient method that was used by our ancestors for spiritual strengthening and physical cleansing. I also learned about the different types of fasting (I didn’t even know there were so many) and decided to do short dry fasting for 24 hours once per week and now I am on a water fasting for 48 hours, which ends at 6 pm today.
I will then be doing intermittent fasting (5 days per week), coupled with high intensity training workout for 20 minutes daily. The good thing about it is that I will not only be losing weight, I will also be repairing the body and shortening the pace at which I am aging (smiles).
I am so elated that I have finally found a way to be healthier…the struggle to losing the weight is over!!
