Have you ever asked yourself ‘who am I’ and truly thought about it? I did that all the time and finally realize that I am no one.
Ahh I see the shock on your face, and it causes me to smile, because I expect you to be. No one describes themselves as ‘No One’. Anyways, you will understand what I mean in just a second.
We often attach ourselves to ideas, groups, race, things, job titles, etc., because we believe we have to identify with something and add labels to ourselves. But recently I started thinking about how limiting that is.
I do not want to be that person who labels myself and shut up in a box that limits me to be or do one specific think. I have no problem with specializing for career purpose, but it doesn’t mean that we can’t serve and gain satisfaction in other areas of life.
So I have finally stopped asking Who am I because I have figured it out. “I am no one, I know nothing, and I own nothing. I am merely grateful that I am part of this wonderful universe and have access to everything, passionate about everything and utilizing what is available to impact this planet.”
