Functional and Beauty crochet plant hangers - What I’m Creating This Week

Functional & Beauty Crochet Plant Hangers: What I’m Creating This Week

Creating with my hands has always been part of how I slow down, reflect, and bring intention into my living space. This week, my focus has been on crochet pieces designed to support plants and small spaces; items that are both functional and beautiful, without feeling cluttered or complicated.

I am continuing to explore how crochet plant hangers and home décor can help plants thrive while also shaping calm, intentional environments. These are the kinds of pieces I make because I need them in my own home.

A Crochet Plant Hanger for Small Spaces

One of the pieces I am working on is a crochet plant hanger designed to hold a potted plant without taking up floor space. I’m especially mindful of how plants live in homes: apartments, bedrooms, verandas, and corners that need lightness rather than bulk.

Plant hangers like these allow plants to be displayed safely and beautifully, especially in container gardens and small spaces where every inch matters. They are practical, but they also soften a room and bring life upward rather than outward.

A Pot Holder for a Bedroom Snake Plant

I’m also creating a crochet pot holder for a snake plant I plan to bring into my bedroom. Snake plants are simple, resilient, and grounding, perfect for indoor spaces where calm matters.

This holder is meant to sit comfortably on a chest of drawers, supporting the plant while also adding texture and warmth to the room. I enjoy thinking about where a plant will live before I make its holder. Placement matters. Function matters. Beauty matters too.

Trying Something New: A Home Décor Basket with Flowers

Another piece I’m attempting this week is something new for me, a crochet home décor holder or basket with crochet flowers. I have admired these kinds of pieces for a while, and I’ve decided it’s time to try.

Whenever I work on something I have never created before, I approach it with curiosity rather than pressure. Not everything has to be perfect to be meaningful. Sometimes creating is about exploration, learning, and allowing yourself to be a beginner again.

This piece is less about utility alone and more about decorative support. It is something that complements plants, shelves, or quiet corners in a home.

Why I Create Crochet Plant Hangers and Home Décor

I made these lovely Crochet Plant Hangers for my Container Garden

I create crochet plant hangers and related home décor because they solve real needs in small spaces. They help plants live well indoors. They support container gardening. They make rooms feel intentional without feeling busy.

In my case, I use acrylic yarn to create many of the plant hangers used in my garden. Acrylic holds its shape well and works beautifully in indoor spaces or covered outdoor areas. For longevity, I place these hangers where they are protected from constant sun and rain – such as verandas, patios, or sheltered corners – so both the plant and the piece can thrive.

These pieces are designed for people who care about how their spaces feel, not just how they look. People who appreciate handmade work, calm design, and practical beauty.

Here’s what that looks like:
